SYNOPSIS

In late 2014, 500 million Yahoo accounts were stolen. In an advisory on 6 May 2016, SingCERT reported a noticeable rise in ransomware infections in both Singapore and overseas. Since April 2016, Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) took enforcement actions against several local companies for unauthorised disclosure of personal data as a result of vulnerable IT systems.
